Barcelona has around 32 Million Visitors per year. When moving here in October I wanted to observe and photograph tourism. Therefore I visited the attractions of the city and when I started taking pictures I immediatly felt there was one element that would be in every picture. The smartphone. I decided to shift my focus on people who are constantly with their mobile phones to capture everything during their holidays. From tourist attractions to selfies anywhere in the city.

Inspired by the global number one hit during the time of the project ‘Debí tirar más fotos’, which addresses the longing for missed moments and untaken pictures, the work asks the question: do we lose the real experience if we are always on the hunt for the perfect picture? The photos invite us to think about whether we want to savour the moment through the screen or with our own senses.
